Mom Sues Pro-Transgender Teachers for Pushing Her Child into Sex-Trafficking Ring

A Virginia mother, Michelle Blair, is suing her local school district for pushing her daughter, Sage, into a transgender identity and putting her in dangerous circumstances, including prostitution and sex trafficking.

The lawsuit, filed by the Child & Parent Rights Campaign (CPRC) on behalf of Blair, alleges that Appomattox County School Board employees secretly transitioned Sage, then aged 14, without her parents’ knowledge. Blair had reportedly informed the school that her daughter had a history of mental health issues, but stated that these were ignored and her parental rights were taken away.

“They stole my right to protect my daughter,” Blair said. “I’m the parent, I am an expert on my child, there is nobody in the school or court system that knows my daughter better than me.”

The lawsuit further claims that Sage was subject to bullying, including threats of rape by male classmates, and that rather than act to protect her, the school encouraged her to use the boys’ bathroom.

Sage was eventually placed by Baltimore-area public defender Aneesa Khan into an all-male juvenile facility, where she was sexually assaulted and then kidnapped, raped, and sex-trafficked after running away.

Now, the mother is demanding justice and, in an effort to prevent similar scenarios from occuring again, Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin (R) has introduced model policies designed to ensure the privacy, dignity, and respect of all students, including a requirement that parents give written consent for their child to go by another name and pronoun at school, and for them to receive counseling services “pertaining to gender.”

However, some school divisions are pushing back against the policies, making it increasingly difficult to prevent grooming of vulnerable youths.

“Sage’s tragic story demonstrates the importance of parental involvement,” commented Youngkin spokeswoman Macaulay Porter. “For Sage, parents, and teachers across the Commonwealth, the governor will continue to empower parents and ensure the privacy, dignity, and respect of all students with the model policies.”

Meanwhile, despite their best efforts to protect their daughter, the Blairs have been left devastated by the situation and their lawsuit represents their fight to reclaim their child’s dignity and to prevent other children from suffering the same fate as Sage.

The story bears sobering reminders that children are not invincible and that their safety and wellbeing must always be the top priority of schools and authorities. As such, it is imperative that adequate measures are taken to ensure the rights of parents are respected, so that vulnerable youths are not taken advantage of.
